About Me
Stefano Rossi,
The Grandpa who Writes
My eighteen grandkids, yes, here is the number again 18 grandchildren had been the reason I started to write this story.
Have you ever been riding with two or more bored young children in the back of your car? If you had, you know what I am talking about! Some parents give their kids cell phones, video games, or other technical kindergarten replacements, but hey, I am the grandpa. I wanted my grandkids to remember me -not a cell phone or a video game, which soon will be replaced by a new model. Grandpas and grandmas cannot be replaced by a new technical gadget. So, one day while driving, the kids start fighting in the back seat, to get their attention, I invented a story.
They started to listen and to interact with questions. What a joy! They couldn’t wait for the next ride, and the next story, and the next ride, and the next story. Overwhelmed with all my animals and their names, I started calling one of my invented animals with the wrong name. And here came an immediate reaction from the back seat! “Grandpa, that was the wrong name, the name is…” What an achievement!! After this incident, my wife Susan urged me to write the stories down. That’s what I did! And here is Benno the Elephant who Paints!
“Don’t just read the easy stuff. You may be entertained by it, but you will never grow from it.”
– Jim Rohn
